Dr. Haoran Zhang's Paper Accepted by Langmuir

On October 12, Dr. Haoran Zhang’s paper “Interfacial Spatial Heterogeneity-Associated Mesoscale Friction Instability at a Diamond Cu Interface” was accepted by Langmuir, a well-known journal in interfacial mechanics.

The paper investigates mesoscale stick–slip friction in diamond–copper sliding contacts. Using a custom-built tribological probe system, the study examines the effects of normal load and sliding velocity on friction force fluctuations, and establishes a relationship between the characteristic stick–slip repeat length and the statistical morphology of polished copper surfaces.
